A small aqua and turquoise glass art curve from my signature collection; inspired by the natural landscape surrounding Derwent Water in Keswick.
The textured curve was handcrafted from transparent aqua, turquoise and crystal clear artisan glass.
It is approximately 13.5 cm (W) x 6 cm (H) x 4.5 cm (D).
The textured nature of the clear glass adds additional visual and tactile interest.
It is a stand-alone piece of art suitable for display on any flat surface.
The curve looks stunning when placed in front of a window or other direct light source, as the translucent nature of the ornament allows light to shine through and reflect onto the surrounding surfaces.
It could be used in the evening as a table or shelf decoration with a tea light or small candle placed behind it.
***Please note that each curve is individually handcrafted, so there will be some variation from the photos.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any queries about the curve or would like to see a photo of the actual item in stock.
A little more about the HANDCRAFTED PROCESS: In order to create the curve, I first cut transparent light aqua sheet glass by hand into the desired shape. I then cut strips of transparent turquoise artisan glass. I arranged the cut pieces on a clear glass base and added crystal clear glass frit (crushed glass). After assembling the piece, I placed it in the kiln and subjected it to a contour fuse. This allowed the individual pieces to fuse together but still retain some of their original shape and texture. The panel was then cold-worked before being fired once more. Next, it was placed in another kiln on top of a ceramic mould and fired a final time to shape the piece into a curve.
PACKAGING: The curve will be securely wrapped in bubble wrap, placed within a well padded box. Although not always feasible, whenever possible, I attempt to reuse packaging in order to reduce the environmental impact.
