Aqua and Turquoise Glass Art Curve

A textured aqua and turquoise glass art curve handcrafted in the Lake District; inspired by the natural landscape.

The freestanding curve was handcrafted from a transparent aqua glass, different shades of turquoise glass and crystal clear artisan glass.

After initial construction, the piece was subject to a contour fuse (the individual pieces fused together but have still retained some of their original shape and texture). Next, it was cold-worked before being fired once more. The glass panel was then placed in another kiln on top of a ceramic mould for a final firing to shape the curve.

The glass curve is approximately 13.5 cm (W) x 8 cm (H) x 4.5 cm (D).

The textured nature of the clear glass and interior surface add additional visual and tactile interest.

Although suitable as a stand-alone piece of art, it looks stunning in front of a window or direct light source, as the translucent nature of the curve allows natural light to shine through and reflect colour onto the surrounding surfaces.

It could be used in the evening as a table or shelf decoration with a tea-light or small candle placed behind it.

PACKAGING: All items will be securely wrapped in bubble wrap and posted in a well padded box. Although not always feasible, whenever possible, I attempt to reuse packaging in order to reduce the environmental impact.
